Ace World Companies has been designing and manufacturing power transmission gearboxes since 1987, when our first overhead crane rolled out the door with a gear reducer we built ourselves. We have never outsourced that work, and we never will. Every gearbox that leaves our facility is cut, fabricated, assembled, and tested under our own roof in Fort Worth, Texas.

That kind of vertical integration is rare, and it is the reason heavy industry trusts us with applications where failure is not an option.

In-House Gear Cutting, From Blank to Finished Drive

Our gear-cutting division is one of the largest of any American crane manufacturer. We hob, shape, grind, and heat-treat our own gears, then mate them to housings we fabricate on site. Because design, machining, and assembly all take place under one roof, our engineers can specify tooth geometry, lubrication paths, and bearing selection for the exact duty cycle a customer needs.

That tight feedback loop matters when you are building industrial gearboxes for Class E and Class F service, where ordinary catalog drives wear out long before the equipment around them does.

We are a longstanding member of the American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA), and our designs follow AGMA standards for rating, geometry, and quality.

A failed drive on a critical line is expensive every hour it sits idle. We have built our gearbox replacement program around that reality. Send us a sample, a drawing, or even a worn-out unit, and our engineering team will reverse-engineer the geometry, upgrade the design where it makes sense, and build you a replacement that drops into the existing footprint.

This service covers Ace units, OEM units from other manufacturers, and legacy drives whose original supplier is long out of business. Because we manufacture more than 90% of our parts in-house, we control the schedule. No waiting on overseas castings or third-party gear shops.

Frequently Asked Questions About Power Transmission Gearboxes

We build parallel-shaft, right-angle, and vertical-output gear reducers in single, double, and triple-reduction arrangements. Helical, herringbone, bevel-helical, and worm geometries are all available, with output torque ratings to match the largest cranes and special machinery we build.

Yes. Our reverse-engineering program covers competitor units, discontinued OEM drives, and legacy gearboxes from manufacturers no longer in business. We will match the existing mounting envelope, shaft sizes, and ratio, and we can upgrade material grades or bearing arrangements where the original design was a weak point.

Our drives are designed and rated to AGMA standards and routinely specified for CMAA Class C through Class F duty. Steel mill, foundry, and continuous-process applications generally run our heavier-rated units; intermittent industrial service runs the standard ratings.
